Kids, here are some great math activities to try out when you're at home or the library. As the school year begins I will update the links and have a section of activities that will help you focus on what we are currently working on.

ALL YEAR FOCUS
If you haven't mastered your multiplication facts yet that should be your first order of business!! Here are some great links to help you out. Enjoy!!

***SET YOUR GOAL***
Can you hit 20 signals in a row? What about a challenge and trying to hit 10 doubles? See if you can set a goal for yourself and see how you do.

This website will allow you to practice your multiplication facts with singles (5x5), doubles (45x3), or homeruns (44x52). Have fun in the major leagues while practicing your facts! A favorite among my students last year :)

***SET YOUR GOAL***
Which times table is giving you a hard time? Maybe it's the 6's or 7's.
Set a goal to master your tables...start without the timer then maybe challenge yourself with a timed session.

This is another great multiplication practice website. You can choose what type of grid you want to make your experience easier or harder. Try a few rounds and see what you think! Keep playing to challenge your new knowledge.

***SET YOUR GOAL***
Can you go through all your multiplication facts 1-9 as fast as you can? Try to start with the 1's and keep going until you reach your goal at the 9's.

This website helps students to focus on what multiplication facts they would like to work on from 1 through 9 using flash cards. It's a great way to stay motivated with practicing using the computer instead of traditional flash cards.

SEPTEMBER FOCUS
We will begin September by working on multiplication facts then move into graphing. Using the websites above as well as any other sites
I have listed on LearningHelper.com will help your child to become successful in math. I've included some graphing websites below help stay focused.

***SET YOUR GOAL***
What kind of graph do you want to make today? A bar graph, a pie graph, maybe a line graph? Can you graph all the days you did your chores this week or maybe how many pages you read? See what you can come up with.

This "Create a Graph" website will allow you to create many graphs including bar, line, and pie graphs. It will also talk about the "X" and "Y" axis to help you gain a better understanding of how we create graphs. Be creative...take a survey at home and graph your results...it would be fun to see how it turns out!

***SET YOUR GOAL***
Billy Bug is hungry...can you feed him quick enough? Try to get all the coordinates in the set time!

Billy Bug is hungry! Help him get food by following the coordinates of where it is...see if you can get him feed quickly and make him happy :) This website helps you work on finding coordinates on a grid while having fun! Getting familiar with the x and y axis points and how to locate them.

***SET YOUR GOAL***
Go through the activity on this website then try your luck at the test they have...can you get all the answers right? Try your luck!

This website has an activity, fact sheet, test, and worksheet to help you understand frequency tables, graphs, and how to read both to find information. This is a great skill that we will use all year in all subject areas. Have fun finding information at this online bike shop.

***SET YOUR GOAL***
Go into the depths of outer space and see if you can keep up your energy in "Spacey Math" by working on your multiplication or division facts!

"Learning Planet" website has a few different math building activities plus some geography and language arts fun . It does require "shockwave" to be installed on your computer if it is not already. Have fun while shooting space crafts or capturing rats!

OCTOBER FOCUS
We have moved from graphing to finding mean, mode, median, and range. This can be a tricky skill for kids as it does require a lot of steps to be successful at each one. The more practice and double checking answers carefully will help them to succeed.

***SET YOUR GOAL***
Can you test your knowledge and ace the test after playing the activity? Try your luck finding mean, mode, and median.

***SET YOUR GOAL***
Do you know your mean, median, mode, and range? Test your knowledge in this quiz game...can you make it to $1,000,000?

TRAIN RACE
***SET YOUR GOAL***
Can you compare your mean, median, and range? Help Pythagoras and Hypatia make their connecting trains.
